TDSB Declares Palestinians Need Antiracism Protection
Largest school board in Canada plays red-green politics by naming new racialized identity group
Yesterday, the TDSB adopted “anti-Palestinian racism” as a new focus area, amending existing “anti-racism” policy to add Palestinian as a new racial category. Palestinians will now be treated as a unique racialized identity group, to receive specialized attention and protections under current anti-racism policy and regulations.
I can think of no plausible, rational justification for designating Palestinians as a new racial group. Palestinians have a variety of Middle Eastern ethnic origins. The majority of them would generally be categorized as Arab Muslims. The TDSB Palestinian racialization narrative is an ENTIRELY POLITICAL move. The left wing DEI regime strives to portray Israelis as racist oppressors and colonizers. This is the basis for the anti-Israel movement’s success in western contexts.
Schools in Canada have become cesspits of left wing political activism. Since the 2010s, identity politics has been an intense focus in our school systems, and our school leadership has created environments of unprecedent division and conflict as a result. Observing the dismal results of greatly accelerated left wing system capture since 2020, commentators now frequently make reference to system strain so severe that it approaches system collapse in some regions. School violence, poor academic results, community/board conflicts, and staffing shortages plague school systems across Canada.
Canadians should make our leaders aware that it is entirely inappropriate and unacceptable that leftist ideologues are using our school systems and government departments to advance their own political interests.
Showing special (and strangely deluded, to be frank) deference to any contested foreign political movement would be bad enough, but by doing this, TDSB just openly sided with a recognized terrorist entity (Hamas) that recently massacred 1200+ Israeli civilians, and still holds hostages.

The leftists running our schools and other institutions have, for several years now, been pursuing “official” balkanization of Canadian citizens into disparate identity groups. This was proving disastrous before Hamas started the war, and it was hard to imagine they could actually make things worse, but with this decision, they have.
Jewish students and parents protested vociferously last night against this clearly biased and politically-motivated decision.
Professor Eric Kaufman’s recent surveys of Canadian attitudes show that the vast majority of Canadians are extremely unhappy with the woke DEI regime that has become infamous for making moves like this one. Canadians do not want civil servants and administrators using schools and other institutions as breeding grounds for left wing activism. Most Canadians are appalled by the recent explosion of antisemitism in Canada. Silencing critics of Hamas and Islamism under the guise of antiracism policy is a bad-faith exercise that will make society more dangerous and tribal, not less.
It is well past time to acknowledge that increased tribalism is actually the INTENTION of the current chattering classes — indentity group conflicts are a feature and not a bug of antiracist ideology and policy. Messages and policies promoting unity do not produce good soldiers for the anti-western revolution sought by globalist overlords. This is why with DEI, we find that the diversity part means conformity of thought and racial quotas, and the inclusion part requires the exclusion of dissidents and freethinkers, and the equity part means good old fashioned redistribution of wealth along lines of race and creed, penalizing members of traditionally successful grops such as whites, Jews, and Asians.
Most of the recent revolutionary de/reconstruction of our society involves authorities coddling and protecting favoured identity groups, and ignoring or demonizing others. The woke revolution is neoMarxist at heart, so the coddled groups are those that can be presented as "systemically oppressed" by the culture of a traditionally Judeo-Christian society.
Whether the oppression claims are backed up with evidence is irrelevant, because in today's leftist-dominated bureaucratic regimes, objective truth and standards of proof are disdained -- personal narratives of victimization combined with differences in group outcomes (wealth, health, status positions, etc) are all that is now required to "prove" systemic discrimination and rubber stamp "equity" measures as a remedy.
Placing the red-green aliance securely under the auspices of DEI antiracism policy is one of the many ways that elite globalist leaders advance nanny state socialism in western nations. Under the multicultural banner, our governments grow ever more bloated, controling, and tyrannical. The strong bond between leftists and Islamists is leading to intense civil unrest across the western world. The red-green alliance is sponsored by globalist organizations: socialist and Islamist NGOs favoured by globalist elite are providing the funding and organizational capacity for this movement, just as they did for BLM. The ME conflict is the latest chapter in the story of globalism’s war on western civilization: it shows us definitively, yet again, that the globalists have western civilization directly in their crosshairs.
For decades now, the UN has been making anti-Israel overtures to prepare the world for this current open assault on Israel’s legitimacy. The UN depicts the middle east’s only functioning, pluralistic democracy as racist, colonialist, imperialistic, and genocidal. Zionism is demonized while the UN remains mute about the expansionism and violent supremacism of Islamism. As far back as 1975, the UN published a statement that “most severely condemned Zionism as a threat to world peace and security and called upon all countries to oppose this racist and imperialist ideology”.
I have never seen, heard, or read anything similar from the UN to condemn the supremacism, imperialism, and xenophobia that characterizes Islamism. This is despite the fact that hundreds if not thousands of Islamic extremist groups now exist, and these Islamists have been spilling innocent blood and displacing populations for decades. The globalist elite never draw attention to the problem of violent Islamic extremism, or to the massive decreases in minority populations (i.e. Christians and Jews) in Islamic nations.
People should be very alarmed by this recent decree, and by the degree of power that is now in the hands of members of the red-green alliance in Canada (and many other western nations).
Representing Palestinians as a separate race category in need of special protection provides yet another pathway by which leftists and Islamists can silence political opposition using existing human rights codes. Many reformers and apostates with Islamic heritage have been warning westerners about this nefarious aspect of the woke revolutionary movement: Asra Nomani, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Yasmine Mohammed, Raheel Raza, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, and many more have told us how the “anti-Islamophobia” industry aids the enemies of freedom and reason. It is time to elevate their voices.
Weaponizing human rights codes is one of the left’s favoured war strategies. This move by TDSB exposes the fact that the anti-racism movement has ALWAYS been a means to assert control and take power using minority identity groups as Trojan Horses. Dissidents against this new social justice orthodoxy are persecuted, driven out of employment, subjected to cancellation campaigns, and face security threats… even when they speak as members of a protected identity group — in those cases, they are typically dismissed as self-hating agents of white supremacism.
This obsession with race and racialization is infecting every aspect of our society. Leftist collectivists are obliterating our formerly core values of individual dignity, individual rights, and free will. They aim to control minds and speech, so as to control (and reconstruct) society.
But the far left has never run a society or nation succesfully. We face a very dark future under their rule. Rightward voting trends suggest people have become aware of this impending danger.
DEI/CRT/BLM/"antiracism" was NEVER going to actually decrease racism. In fact, DEI merely changes the targets of discrimination, and ensures increased tribalism and conflict with its unrelenting, obsessive focus on racial categories and division.
This strategy of consolidating power leftward through identity politics worked well for the left with BLM and Every Child Matters, and so of course they will apply the same playbook with the most recent socio-political conflict. Anti-Palestinian racism is Canada's new BLM and ECM… a politically useful subset of “Islamophobia”.
Never mind that Jews, statistically, suffer the most from threats, hate crimes, and intimidation tactics — at far higher rates than any other racial group in Canada.
Never mind that the Hamas Charter of 1988 (as well as Palestinian culture generally) is EXPLICITLY and genocidally anti-Jewish, espousing Islamic imperialism and supremacy as the core guiding principle. The explicitly racist, supremacist 1988 charter (that correctly identified the conflict as a religious war at heart) underwent a social justice revision in 2017. The revised Hamas charter downplays the Islamism of the group and movement. The revisionists added a thick layer of critical theory lingo to produce a new framing, portraying Hamas as a social justice movement. They shifted the focus completely, deflecting from the fact that Hamas is part of the Muslim Brotherhood Islamist crusade to reclaim lands they consider eternally consecrated to Allah. The new charter frames the anti-Israel movement as a leftist rejection of Zionism as a form of oppressive colonialism. The left declares Zionism to be virtually indistinguishable from white supremacism and western imperialism.
And despite deep cracks recently appearing in the DEI regime foundation, narratives of white supremacism and western imperialism still have broad currency in Canadian society, and this will continue as long as Liberals still have control of the federal government.
Even Conservative politicians and governments hesitate to criticize (let alone dismantle) the DEI regime that is now in place, despite DEI being seriously unpopular with their base.
Also: never mind that anti-white racism is being driven to all-time highs and is now blatantly on display in most of our schools and many govt departments. Never mind that dozens of churches have been burned down and vandalized in Canada as a result of leftist agitation, which is often fueled by outright LIES about history and contemporary society.
And never mind that now, synagogues are also under severely increased threat of attack, while I haven’t heard any reports lately of Canadian mosques being razed by fire or attacked with gunfire.
The Toronto District School Board insisting on adding "anti-Palestinian racism" as a special category reminds me of their attempt several years ago to define "Islamophobia" as including "criticism of Islamic culture and politics". After public outcry, they revised that definition and said it was published in error. But it was not an error — by now it is crystal clear that the ultimate goal of the DEI regime is to silence criticism of Islamic culture and politics in particular, and political oppositition to globalism in general.
Any number of federal government initiatives provide proof that this is their goal, including the dramatic shift since mid-2010s in public-facing CSIS reporting about security threats. CSIS stopped outright naming of security threats related to Islam, high rates of Muslim immigration, and Islamic extremism, instead substituting generic terms like RME (religiously motived extremism). It must gall the Canadian officials leading the charge to sanitize Islamic extremism that so many proscribed RME groups include the name of the religion right in their organization name, thereby forcing the government to reveal the VAST overrepresentation of Islam on their published lists of RME security threats.
The DEI regime at all levels of government uses identity politics and related "hate speech" codes to curtail our right to freely criticize dangerous ideologies such as Islamism. This greatly empowers the leftist-Islamist alliance, a movement that is already producing increased violence and fragmentation in formerly peaceful, stable, relatively cohesive societies.
This TDSB policy is downstream of geopolitical power struggles occurring at the highest levels. The globalist Great Reset agenda IS the agenda being implemented by the DEI regime in Canada, especially via indoctrination and policy in our schools. This agenda works to destroy traditional Judeo-Christian (western) hegemony in Europe, North America, and down under.
Islamism and the modern left are thoroughly anti-western, and they make no pretense otherwise. Western Christians in particular must remember that Christ said he came NOT to abolish Judaism. Do not be fooled by critical social justice Trojan Horses, and the braying crowds crying racism and colonialism over rejection of leftist-Islamist narratives and demands. The right place to stand is with the Jewish people and state against the woke globalist behemoth.
All the woke ideology is dangerous bunk, but there is perhaps no imperialism, no ideological colonization more dangerous to our security, our traditions, and our freedoms than the leftist-Islamist alliance.
Excellent piece! A very comprehensive look at this issue. Will repost on X and share on FB.
The ultrazionist movement is so insane that one of its followers assassinated Rabin for almost reaching a (real) peace deal with Arafat in the 1990s.
Netayahu, primary beneficiary of Rabin's assassination, openly admitted on USA national TV, conservative William F. Buckley Jr.'s show "Firing Line" in the 1980s that "Israel was founded by terrorists".
Jimmy Carter wrote a book on Apartheid in the West Bank, detailing its evils.
Several Israeli military and govt. leaders have publicly called for the complete extermination of the Arab population (which includes Christian Arabs).
I read about half your article, and skimmed the rest. I saw no mention of the insane tribalism of ultrazionist extremism.
As such, you have less credibility in your critique of the t0x1c cargo cult zombies on the "woke" left, which is the same problem that AIPAC and other zionist lobbyists in the USA have.
