Facebook Shuts Down Freedom Convoy Page with 600k Members

Go Fund Me page still active, with $5.2 million donated since January 14

People woke up today to find that FB had shut down the original Freedom Convoy page called Convoy To Ottawa 2022. At the time of deletion, the page had attracted approximately 600k members in just a week or two. A second attempt at creating a page for convoy supporters got to 92k members quickly, but for reasons not clear, people began having trouble joining this page, also.

And then, to the joy and relief of the group members, the original page was resurrected, at around 10 AM EST. Again, no explanation was given.

Freedom Convoy 2022 has quickly grown into massive protest movement, with convoys of truckers and their supporters on the move as I write this, all heading to Ottawa and planning to converge there January 29th. Canadian truckers started the movement, and are now being joined by a large contingent of American truckers, and millions of online supporters. The core issues of concern for these protestors are vaccine mandates and pandemic lockdown measures. People are demanding that leaders end economically and socially devastating Covid-19 public health policies, which appear to be doing little to stop the spread of the virus.

Major media outlets (aside from Fox News, no surprise there) have been slow to cover the convoy, but the movement is growing so large that they won’t be able to avoid this story.

This media/social media manipulation reminds me of their behaviour during the 2020 American election, specifically when Facebook shut down the very popular and inspiring WalkAway page (a page which also had around 600K members and was growing quickly at the time it was shut down) where individuals posted their personal confessional stories of “leaving the left”, and that was one of the most welcoming, inspiring, supportive, open, and positive pages I have ever been a member of on the platform. The most common sentiment expressed by members on the WalkAway page — just like on the Freedom Convoy page — was deep gratitude for being part of something that made them feel connected with likeminded people and HOPEFUL, for a change.

Seems big tech doesn’t like large groups of non-leftist type people uniting and feeling hopeful, constructing mass movements for non-leftist types of change — that's just too “dangerous”. That might lead to “violent insurrection” activity! Protest groups that fearmonger about police and white ppl hunting black folks, and plan BLM riots, and campaign to elect globalist/deep state puppets based on demonization of their political opposition are fine with Facebook and big tech, however... big tech censors cheer those kinds of groups on: Fight the Power! Organize! Raise the voices of the downtrodden! Get the vote out!

Thankfully, Go Fund Me has not given in to pressure to delete the Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser, whose incredible overnight success attests to the fact that a significant portion of the populace is now completely out of patience and desperate for a new leadership approach after being subjected to two years of heavily restrictive measures that haven’t worked to stop the spread of the virus, along with authoritarian censorship and control of information at levels we’ve never seen or experienced in western contexts during the modern era.

Will this movement result in an end to the unethical and unconstitutional vaccine mandates that are forcing so many people into unemployment? Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hasn’t yet made a statement about the mass protest about to descend on Ottawa to demand his resignation. Rumours began circulating a few days ago that police would be trying to stop the truckers by shutting down highways, but so far, official police response has been neutral, with spokespersons denying any such intentions. Rumours have also been circulating that when the convoy arrives in Ottawa next week, Trudeau will been on holiday… possibly surfing in Tofino.
